    Edmund moved move west from NY to MI with his parents and siblings in 1850. Edmund and Martha Electa HAVENs were married 31 Jan 1867, probably in Ionia Co., MI. She was born in Orange Twp., Ionia Co., MI in 1845. The story goes that Edmund's mother sent him after a pound of tea in 1848 (age 18). He went to sea, but when he came back in 1863, he brought his mother the tea! Edmund was killed in a railway accident 20 Feb 1874 at Ionia, MI. Both Edmund and his wife are buried in the Steele Cemetery, Ionia Co., MI.

    After Edmund's death, Martha Electa married William BARRETT. Their children are Edith, Stella, Maude, Bell and Grace.
