- 4 Peder LARSEN b. 2 Feb 1839 at Brudager Sogn (parish), Gudme Herred (district), Svendborg Amt (county), Fyn (Fuen) Province, Denmark, bap. 29 Mar m. 13 Oct 1863 in Gadbjerg parish, Peder of Langeskou 24yo Ane Johanne NEILSDATTER of Gadbjerg 28yo, they gave their intention to marry 2 Aug, sponsors: Soren and Peter BENDTSEN, Peder's last parish (before emigrating) was Vinding, Norvang Herred, Peder and Johanne lived for a time at Stougaard, a very large farm in the Torring (slash thru o) parish owned by a nobleman. Neils and Inger Marie were born there. Workers were required to work certain numbers of hours for the nobleman, then the same amount for the church before they could work for themselves. They lived in a small house "in the foeld." The nobleman used cruel punishments if workers didn't perform up to their orders. One punishment was to sit on wooden horses in the courtyard for long periods of time regardless of weather. Peder was a maker of wheels and Stougaard. Stougaard is still a large working farm. Peder and family sailed from Copenhagen to NY 15 Mar 1879. Peder d. 66yo of Bright's disease (i.e. kidney failure) after a year's illness on 14 May 1905 at Stewart, MN. Ane Johanne b. 4 Nov 1834 at Gadbjerg Mark. Her mother was Inger KNUDSDATTER, who was b. in Brande 1795. Inger was bap 20 Sep by which time her mother Johanne JENSDATTER had died (of complications related to Inger's birth?). Inger's father was Knud OKIER (slash thru O) from Norvang Herred. Ane Johanne's father was Neils THOMSEN b. 1780 in Norup, Bredsten Sogn, Torrild (slash thru o) Herred d. 13 Sep 1856 76yo, Neils was a wool shearer and spinner of yarn which he wove into cloth, also a farmer, was retired 54yo by the 1834 census. Neils had a son Jens NEILSEN b1814 from a previous marriage. Neils THOMSEN's father was Thomas NEILSEN. Inger and Neils had Maren Kirstine b. Oct 1830, Ane Johanne b. 4 Nov 1834 and Knud b. 6 May 1837. Peder and Ane Johanne are buried in a country cemetery on old county 7, a curving road between Hutchinson and Stewart. It is near the site of the St. Morten's Danish Lutheran Church - Heatwole (no remains on this site). Ane Johanne d. 22 Mar 1910.

Enewald HANSEN and Louis LARSON were long-time partners of the HANSEN-LARSON Hardware/Implement Dealership in Stewart, MN. The family maintained this business for many years (and Mabel's father Neils GRUNNET was also involved for a time).
