Anne and Maud GREEN appear on PARR chart in Kath PARR bk, so 1 Rosena and 12 PARR sisters Anne and Maude (ca 18) are 5c 11x removed on GREEN line, and so of course Henry VIII's 6th and last wife KP (dau of Maud) is Rosena's 6c 10x removed, same for KP's bro Wm PARR, who w/wife Eliz BROOKE were good frds of Bess of Hardwick i.e. in her Prot 'circle'.
Th PARR bought the wardship and m. of younger sis 15yo Matilda (Maud) GREENE in 1517, 1yr after her dad died. He m. her next yr 1508, and his step-dad Nich VAUX m. Maud's sis Anne. The sis's came from good Yorkist stock; maternal ggpa Sir John FOGGE had been treasurer of the royal household 1461-8 in 1st part of Edw IV's reign. He would've known Th P's dad tho likely not friends, since FOGGE was a WOODVILLE henchman. 'On both sides Maud's male forebears were an unpleasant lot' (17). When Henry VII d. and H VIII t/o, the PARRs situation was greatly improved. At H 8's coronation Th P made Kgt of the Bath, which brot bennies and esp. debt forgiveness. H 8 m. Kath of A ['petite and golden-haired'] 6-11-1510, w/their joint coronation following soon after. Th and his bro Wm were close companions of H 8, in inner circle w/STAFFORDs, NEVILLEs, CAREWs and BOLEYNs. Maud became lady in waiting to Kath around same time. So they were 'plugged in' to court life. 25yo Maud's hubby Th PARR d. fall 1517 39yo w/o fulfilling his dream of a lordly title, of some unknown illness that came on fast i.e. wrote his will just 4 days before dying, left 400# (160k today) to both 5yo KP and little sis Anne, most to son Wm (between sis). Maud was pregnant when he d. but no more is heard of that child, so likely miscarried, stillborn or DY. Maud was executor along w/Cuthbert TUNSTALL AD Chester (and kinsman), bro Sir Wm P of Horton and Dr MELTON, his household chaplain (KP 22-3). She was already a lady in waiting for Kath of Aragon, which continued; in fact she served Kath the rest of her life, til Maud d1531 (incl. 'testing time' in 1520s as Henry grew tired of Kath and sought divorce).
