Lolke was baptized June 7, 1705 in Tjerkwerd?.

Lolke was married April 1, 1731 at Tjerkwerd. He was married to Frouwkjen Sijmens. On Dec 23, 1731 they both made profession of faith. Lolke Ybes was a farmer. He owned his farm in Tjerkwerd. Frouwkje died sometime between 1736 and 1740. They had 2 children.

The children had no mother. The housekeeper was Antje Lenerts (her father was Lenert). Lolke Ybes remarried on Jan 26 1744 to Ytje Herres, from Hartwerd. She was baptized Jan 29 1707. She made profession of faith 29 May 1729. Lolke Ybes became guardian on 18 May 1742 for Hylke and Klaas Martens, children of Jisk Klazes. In Sep 19 1766, he became guardian of Baukjen Aukes, age 21. He was a respected man in the community.

In 1747 Lolke became a deacon. In 1752 he was chosen as elder. It seems that an elder at that time served more than 4 years, since he was still an elder in 1758.

In 1752 he had a dispute with Rymer Joukes, which was resolved using the Bible text that states that 2 people must reconcile (Col 3:13). Tolerate and forgive each other. Forgive others as the Lord has forgiven you. The consistory was involved in this case. They shook hands and became "brothers" again.
