Lolke and Durkjen were married 20 May 1782. He was 19 years old. (it may have been a forced marriage, since this was unusally young). He married Aukjen Annes from Hieslum, who was born 1760 in Exmorra.
Lolke Ybes was a farmer in Tjerkwerd. Between 1796 and 1799 he and his family moved to Hieslum. On May 31, 1789 he became a deacon at Dedgum. On December 20, 1811, he took the name Dijkstra (this apparently was the time when Napolean required all Dutch people to have last names for the first time!). This name means "on or by the dyke".
The same thing happened to Aukjen, whose family name became Feenstra. (Veen means peat moss, not sure about Feen, maybe an older version).
