    with Tacy:

  • Bertha Ida, b. 4 Jul 1886 at "

Henry was born and raised in Somerset County, NJ until 1823 (he was 8yo) when his family moved to OH to live on land awarded for his father's service in the War of 1812. They settled in Warren Twp., Jefferson County. After a little more than 2-1/2 years there, Abraham died and is buried there. They apparently later moved to Knox County, OH [near Akron]. There Henry was married, by Rev. Z. Bell on 16 Feb 1837, to Louisa COFFING. Louisa was born in Union County, PA, but was living in Knox County, OH when married.

Henry and Louisa went, with his brother Peter, to Richmond, IN (Wayne County) where Joshua was born. By 1840, they were back in Knox County, OH and farming in S. Bloomfield Twp., Morrow County, near Chesterville. In 1880, records show them living and farming near Centerburg (Hilliar Twp.). At that time, Tacy's daughter Olive DeBolt was with them.

from Dave's, annotated by him (following ?, Rosena? Marguerite Thelma?) as follows:
Back: Effie Bedell, Delmer Brokaw, Mollie O., Frank Brokaw, Emma Osborn, Charlie Brokaw
Front: (Rosa? or Tacy DeBolt?, Henry's 2nd wife m1878) ?, Louisa (Coffing) Brokaw, Henry Brokaw, William Brokaw

Hmmm, Louisa must've been added later since she d1875 and her son Delmer would've been only 13yo at that time and he's clearly older than that in this picture, so her image must've been added to the later picture taken sometime before Henry d1897! So perhaps the woman at left front is Henry's 2nd wife Tacy (MYERS) DeBOLT (m1878)? Hmmm, it looks a bit like Rosa, but no other wives are shown. Not sure who Mollie O. was? Hmmm, not a sister OR a wife of a son. Possibly a sis-in-law of Emma Osborn? I'm guessing this pic was taken c1885 when Delmer was in early 20s (b1862), possibly shortly before he and Frank headed from OH to MI (see above). But if so, that isn't Rosa since he met her AFTER moving to Lansing.
