So Lucinda STEWART 12th cousin of Ada, same for JCS 4x removed, or John STEWART 11th cousin of Lord BYRON, same for JCS 5x removed.

Lord Byron (Geo G BYRON, 6 B B) 1788-1824 36yo is known not just for his poetry but also his personality and life story. Not only a genius (wit, satire) but a millionaire, hero, nobleman, sinner and beauty. He was b. into a tormented and tempestuous family. His dad, who d. when Byron was 3yo, nicknamed him 'Mad Jack'. He succeeded to the family title at 10yo, schooled at Harrow and Cambridge, began pub-ing poetry in his teens, and by 1812 [24yo] among the most famous poets in England. He m. (unhappily) in 1815, but exiled himself the next year (hounded by accusations of insanity and incest), never to return home. He spent time in Switzerland, but mostly in Italy, often w/Shelley and his wife Mary [author of Frankenstein] (see story in B&C.html?). Byron exploited the same fashion for things Scottish that 1st made Robt BURNS famous a generation earlier. There've been better poets, but none has surpassed Byron's personal influence; the 'Byronic hero' is still w/us - dark, moody, aloof, misanthropic, courageous, brilliant, tortured. He DY in Greece helping the cause of indep, tho of fever v. wounds, indeed he never saw combat, tho Greeks still name their sons Byron in his honor. 2 of his poems (So, We'll Go No More a-Roving and She Walks in Beauty) made it into Wm Harmon's 'Classic 100 Poems' (Columbia Univ, 1990/8, 360pp, bot Tu 8-14-18 FHL).
